• Attendance Starts at Home

    • Children are extremely observant and will pick up on your attitude about school. Try to discuss school in a positive way.
    • Keep routine bedtime and morning routines.
    • Lay out clothes, backpacks, and other school supplies the night before.
    • Avoid scheduling vacations or appointments when school is in session.
    • Talk to teachers, counselors, or other school staff if your child is feeling anxious about attending school.
    • If your child is truly sick, do not send them to school! If you aren't sure, consult with your primary care physician or the school nurse.
      • Remember, children can still go to school even if they have a cold or other minor illnesses. When in doubt, ask!
