• HOMEWORK

Homework is important for reinforcing information and strategies learned in class.  Homework is usually assigned 1-2 nights per week.  It is collected at the beginning of the class, checked for accuracy, and gone over to clarify information. Homework is worth 10% of the quarterly grade.

Homework is written on the back board and noted on Google Classroom. If there is no homework, students should be reading self-selected materials.

Things to do daily: Read independent book. Study vocabulary (Word of the Day). Work on long term assignments.

     ABSENCES

Students who are absent can check the homework slide on Google Classroom. In addition, check Google Classroom to see if there is anything that can be done before returning. This way your child won't get behind or have to give up homeroom time.  Students should also check with me upon return for work missed and any necessary handouts.  You may call for work if your child will be out longer than one day.

    EXTRA CREDIT

Extra Credit is available on a daily basis. Students are instructed at the beginning of the year on options for receiving extra credit. There are a variety of activities depending on student interest, and each assignment is awarded points depending on level of difficulty and student performance.
